Using the towel on a dirty surface
Dragging a drying towel across dirt, dust, or debris is the fastest way to scratch your paint and ruin the towel. Any contaminants trapped in the fibers act like sandpaper, creating swirl marks.
The fixAlways rinse your vehicle thoroughly after washing to remove all soap and loose dirt. Never use a drying towel on an unwashed or contaminated surface.

Using bleach or fabric softener when washing
Bleach destroys microfiber strands and reduces absorbency, while fabric softener coats the fibers, making them repel water instead of absorbing it. Both leave residue that transfers onto your paint and permanently damages the towel's performance.
The fixWash microfiber towels separately with mild, fragrance-free detergent in warm water, not hot, under 140F (60C). Tumble dry on low heat or air dry by hanging. Remove promptly from the dryer to prevent wrinkles.

Using high heat when drying
High heat melts the synthetic microfiber strands, permanently reducing the towel's softness, absorbency, and ability to hold water. The damage happens quickly and cannot be reversed.
The fixAir dry your microfiber towels by hanging them, or tumble dry on the lowest heat setting, or the no-heat air-fluff setting. Remove promptly from the dryer to prevent wrinkles.
